Welcome to the Faculty of General Dental Practice, Northern Ireland
The Northern Ireland division was set up in 1992 and is an active division of the FGDP in the UK. Currently there are in excess of 120 members.
In keeping with the aims of the wider FGDP(UK), our goal is to improve the level of care provided to patients through standard setting, training, education and research.
We run a very successful biennial Conference in Belfast, usually in September. This regularly attracts an audience of over 150 dentists to hear internationally renowned speakers.
We have recently resurrected our Study Group for the MJDF examination. This is the first step on the career pathway for GDPs. There has been a surge of interest in this exam in recent years with our study group full with a waiting list for the following year. Details of how to get involved can be found in the MJDF section.
Our small but enthusiastic committee is determined to promote and see the FGDP(UK) grow in Northern Ireland.
